Nottingham Skip Hire

You need a permit for any skip placed on a public road in Nottingham. We handle the application with the council, which takes 2-3 days to process. No permit is needed for skips on private property. The permit costs £35 for 14 days. Certain roads in Nottingham city centre have restrictions on skip placement, particularly around Old Market Square and the Victoria Centre area. We can't accept hazardous materials in our Nottingham skips. This includes asbestos, chemicals, gas bottles, paint tins, batteries, tyres, fridges, televisions and fluorescent tubes. Garden waste, furniture, soil, bricks and general household rubbish are all fine. Plasterboard needs to be kept separate or in bags. Some customers from Wollaton and Ruddington have asked about disposing of old heating oil tanks – these need specialist collection. Electronics can be taken to the household waste centre on Redfield Road.

The standard hire period is 14 days. We deliver between 7am and 5pm. Morning slots get booked up quickly, especially around month-end. If you need the skip for longer, call us before the collection date. Extension fees are £10 per day for small skips and £15 for larger ones. Metal is sent to a recycling yard in Hucknall. Clean rubble sometimes supplies local building projects as fill material. Green waste gets composted at a site near Newark. We recycle around 80% of collected waste. The remaining non-recyclable items go to licensed disposal sites. Council regulations require us to keep disposal records for each skip.
